Legal Requirements
Personal and family record extract (Summary of Personal and Familial Civil Status of the Residents Records) (2 copies of each) Passport copies (2 copies) All documents must be translated into English and legalized by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lebanon and The Cyprus Embassy in Beirut. The wedding certificate issued by the town hall at the time of marriage must be legalized firstly by the Ministry of the Interior and Nicosia and secondly by the Lebanese Embassy in Nicosia, it is also obligatory for the couple to obtain a second copy of their marriage certificate as one copy is retained by the Lebanese embassy, revenue stamps are required for both copies. The Lebanese Embassy in Nicosia will retain one copy of the record extract with the other being retained by the town hall where the ceremony is held.
